Golden Records Vinyl to CD converter is an audio recorder and converter. It was specifically designed to record the audio from an analog source like Vinyl discs and digitize it into a computer format. For that, the application uses two tools. First, and most importantly, it uses an audio recording system that can record from both the line-in, a microphone or optical-in, if you have it. The recorder can output files to either WAV or MP3 formats. The second part of this tool is the restoration engine. Old, analogue sources are bound to have defects like skipping, noises, hissing, etc. The restoration part of the process uses several filters to minimize those defects before saving your files. Restoration takes place in real-time, but it takes a while after a long recording for the file to be finalized. Also, you can split your recordings before you finish capturing audio. You can record manually or by using a wizard with predetermined settings. The wizard for recording from a vinyl disc has some advanced options, like connection mode (Via Amp or Pre-Amp, or Direct connection) and Recording speed (to match your vinyl). You can also use this to record audio from cassettes.
